Technical Surfaces recently welcomed members of the press as well as consultants to Loughborough University for a day which demonstrated how the company is at the forefront of the maintenance of synthetic surfaces.
Journalists and consultants were treated to an introduction of why a new corporate look has been chosen along with why synthetic surface maintenance is of the utmost importance which was followed by a lively Q&A session.
The event was at Loughborough University Sports Technology Institute, a £15M initiative in partnership with the East Midlands Development Agency to boost enterprise in the sport and leisure sector and develop cutting-edge technology to support future British champions. It is home to the world's largest university-based sports technology research group, partnering leading brands for over 20 years.
Shortly before breaking for lunch, visitors were given a guided tour of operations at the institute and a demonstration of a ‘world’s first’ testing of wear and impact of brushing a synthetic surface, results of which will be published shortly.
Greg Hill (Commercial Director), Jonathan Gunn (Technical Director) and Nick Harris (UK Sales Manager) were the ones hosting the day which offered plenty of food for thought for the press. Nick Harris gave demonstrations of how a maintenance programme compared to a non-maintained surface performed over a 10 year cycle.
Keeping with the theme of ‘Best of British’ on St. George’s Day, a vintage Double Decker ‘Red Routemaster’ bus was hired to transport the guests to one of the artificial sports pitches, a £36 million capital investment, to show everyone the different types of machinery available to help with the maintenance of the surfaces’ along with the different techniques which included the Revite® and Rejeneration® processes along with drag brushing and power cleaning.
Loughborough University is the jewel in Technical Surfaces’ synthetic maintenance crown and now boasts one of the highest concentrations of top class sports training facilities found anywhere in the world. This means that whether you're an elite athlete, a student looking for the best sports environment or a recreational trainer, you'll find state-of-the-art facilities for the widest choice of sports - all easily accessible and located on one campus.
The new corporate image will be reflected across a range of new magazine adverts, product-led direct mail, company brochure and a completely re-designed website at www.technicalsurfaces.co.uk
